The Role

Moderna is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Business Strategy and Planning, who will enable successful business planning and agile teams by steering project/program completion and implementation as defined by the teams. The Senior Manager will be accountable for team program & project management, maintaining a broad span of control for monitoring performance, recommending schedule changes, cost adjustments, resource additions and expansion or discontinuance of projects. Lastly, this leader will investigate facts and develop solutions to problems during the design and planning phases of the functions and program teams they will support, while continuing to provide timely and accurate status updates.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Through strong collaboration, leverage relationships by interfacing with key stakeholders across the organization to produce optimal results, refine our bold short-, mid-, and long-term strategy and ensure successful implementation
• Lead overarching processes that allow us to be nimble and innovate in operations and strategic planning
• Lead projects, develop & manage timelines and expectations within cross-functional teams to develop solutions using your experiences and best practices
• Responsible for building quality relationships with key stakeholders, in Medical and Commercial, that result in trusted partnerships and project support
• Act with dynamic range and digitizing whenever possible, partnering with functions and teams to manage and implement TA planning
• Establish, communicate, and execute plans resulting in the achievement of project goals.
• Manage the creation of project strategies and support Medical Affairs in presenting these strategies to key stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Adjust project strategy and priorities in response to changes in strategic direction.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in biotech/pharma/life science
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Commercial, Medical, process optimization and communication, bringing in a comprehensive understanding of program management concepts and principles

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

• Master’s degree or advanced degree preferred
• Strong analytical ability to both solve and lead others to solve complex, technical, and operational problems and make recommendations
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build and leverage relationships by interfacing with and influencing key stakeholders, as well as external partners to take action to produce optimal results and impact
• Comfort with ambiguity (e. g. , comfortable in the gray)
• Significant prior experience with strategic transformation
• Experience working with management and consulting with key business stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way; orchestrate plans that resolve issues and mitigate risks in a matrixed environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
