Job Description
Role overview:
As the resource responsible for ensuring EFS / USBank executes its responsibilities to conduct Transfer Impact Assessments (TIA), this role requires the individual to implement an effective, sustainable Transfer Impact Assessment Framework with associated controls and processes to identify and conduct Transfer Impact Assessments in line with regulatory and business expectations for existing and future in scope personal data transfers.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identifying and engaging required internal and external stakeholders to identify and complete relevant TIA activities establishing, building and maintaining strong effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
- Working independently as well as part of virtual and onsite teams to deliver outcomes showing self-reliance, taking ownership of tasks, ability to proactively anticipate, identify and manage risks, generate and investigate solution options and drive results
- Staying informed and integrating relevant guidance and regulations and creatively problem solving to meet regulatory requirements within organizational capabilities, leveraging existing processes/controls, identifying and incorporating industry best practice where applicable.
- Applying an inquisitive mind-set to identify potential gaps / improvements , evidence solution options, analysis and recommendations and present to relevant stakeholders for review and approval in a timely manner
- Credibly challenging information provided by stakeholders. Requesting and analyzing evidence provided against existing processes, internal documents, industry benchmarks / guidance
- Setting and working to aggressive timelines to complete TIAs , adapting quickly and dynamically to any changing requirements / uncertainty and completing required TIAs in an accurate, complete, timely and consistent manner
- Maintaining artefacts for regulatory and internal audit inspection and any policy requirements. Ensure appropriate evidence is available to support third party and internal audit challenge (including but not limited to process flow diagrams, procedure documents, appropriate signoff of approach adopted). Identify and incorporate controls into reproducible and sustainable processes with appropriate sign-off / validation by relevant stakeholders
- Proactively communicate & report progress / challenges to senior management with regular stakeholder updates to ensure progress and work performed aligns to stakeholder expectations
While the objectives of this role relate primarily to the objectives above, it is anticipated that in response to business needs there may be a requirement to
- Support BAU activities as required by team resourcing demands
- Support the EU Data Protection Officer (or delegate) in ad hoc priority activities
We expect:
- Very good English
- Minimum of five years experience working in the field of data protection and privacy, preferably in payments services and/or financial services
- Expertise in data protection law, practice and frameworks
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent team player
- Experience in a legal, risk or compliance management role preferable
- Strong project management skills
