Salary: £40, 000 - 70, 000 per year

• I require at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Progress OpenEdge development, including ABL/4GL.
• You should have strong expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs and/or SOAP-based services.
• Proficiency in database design, management, and optimization with Progress databases is essential.
• Experience with API security standards such as OAuth2, JWT, or API Gateways is needed.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e. g. , Git), and Agile methodologies is preferred.
• I value excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• A strong understanding of system integration, messaging protocols, and data formats (e. g. , JSON, XML) is important.
• You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• You will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using Progress OpenEdge ABL/4GL.
• Your role will involve building and integrating APIs (REST, SOAP, or GraphQL) to connect with third-party systems and internal applications.
• I expect you to optimize and troubleshoot API performance, security, and scalability.
• You will develop, document, and maintain system integrations and data workflows.
• Collaboration with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions will be crucial.
• I need you to ensure code quality through peer reviews, unit testing, and adherence to development best practices.
• Participation in system architecture and design discussions will be part of your role.
• You will monitor and address issues in production systems, ensuring timely resolutions.
